Faculty Steering Committee

The research programs of Bioinformatics Faculty at Temple are about connecting theory to data; to develop, improve and validate (or reject) theories, using data from the real world. This bridge building between data and theory happens primarily within the framework of computer programming. To make the bridges, from theory to data and back again, bioinformaticians use mathematical and statistical models, and they write and run computer programs to implement the complex methods of analysis that they and others have developed.

The Bioinformatics Professional Science Master's degree program is a joint effort by leading scholars from three departments in the College of Science and Technology of Temple University:

  • Biology
  • Chemistry
  • Computer and Information Sciences
